SCHOLARSHIPS

The Anouchi organization was originally created to provide annual tuition assistance for students in academic and scientific institutions in Israel. The Anouchi Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Iris Elaine Anouchi. It is managed by the School of Medicine at the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel.

40_IRIS901A.jpgIris Elaine Anouchi was an accomplished artist. She was a painter, a Persian and Chinese rug weaver, and a piano player. She was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, grew up in Everett, Massachusetts and Fort-Wayne, Indiana. She lived in Israel with her husband and fell in love with the country. She lost her battle with cancer and is buried in Haifa. .

The "ANOUCHI SCHOLARSHIP AWARD” program was set up to award annually a tuition supplement for eligible students. The fund has focused its scholarship program to assist economically deprived students from the Sfarady community at the Technion School of Medicine in Haifa, Israel. Students at the Technion School of Medicine are encouraged to apply for tuition assistance. Scholarship awards are paid directly to the Technion School of Medicine for use as tuition supplement for the selected students.

The FUND grants tuition awards to four students every year. Students can obtain information about the scholarship program from the office of the Dean of the Technion Medical School at any time during the academic year. If you are a medical student who meets the criteria of the fund and is interested in applying for a tuition assistance grant for the next academic year, please contact the office of the Dean.

The deadline for submitting the application is APRIL 30 of each year. The Dean’s office selects each applicant based on his or her financial needs and determines if the Fund criteria is met.  The applicants are informed about the awards before the statt of the following academic year..
